About the Image Rotator
PixelCanvas Studio's Image Rotator makes it easy to correct image orientation or create a flipped version of a photo or graphic. You can rotate an image in quarter-turn increments, flip it horizontally or vertically, preview the result and download the transformed file.
How to use the Image Rotator
- Upload a JPG, PNG or WebP image.
- Choose 90°, 180° or 270° rotation, or use a horizontal/vertical flip.
- Use Reset if you want to remove the selected transformations.
- Select Apply Transform.
- Review the preview and output dimensions.
- Download the transformed image.
When to rotate or flip an image
Rotation is useful when a photograph was captured in the wrong orientation or when you need a different composition. Horizontal flipping creates a mirror image, while vertical flipping turns the image upside down. Be careful with graphics containing text because flipping them can make the text appear backwards or upside down.
Image quality
The transformed image is rendered again in the browser. Keeping the original file is recommended when image quality is important. For photographs, the output format and encoding can affect file size and visual quality.
If the image contains readable text, logos or directional objects, use rotation rather than mirroring unless you specifically want a reversed image.
Privacy and file handling
The rotation and flipping operations are performed in your browser. The selected image is loaded locally for processing and does not need to be uploaded to a server for these basic transformations.
